Beach day at Puget Sound with Nick and some of the guys from his new unit, since it’s finally starting to get nice enough out for these things. Our dogs were thrilled. I’m exhausted now, but what an awesome day and a beautiful view.
Nick and I updated our camera to a slightly better model, a Canon 40D. Why? Well, for one, after 6 years of heavy use, the XTi finally bit the dust. And more importantly, we found out a couple of weeks ago that we’ll be adding a baby to our little family!
I did some test shooting with the 40D today. I’m loving it. Here’s a couple of portraits I did of our adopted Akita, Kuma. She has been glued to my side since she realized I was pregnant… which was about 4 days before I realized it myself!
i woke up today with the intention of doing one self portrait that i was happy with. and even after having a really shitty day and almost having a panic attack in class and crying in a tanning bed (which is embarrassing to walk away from, by the way), i still managed to do the one self portrait.
so, that’s nice. for this ability, i am thankful.
